1️⃣ Progesterone is crucial when you are trying to get pregnant and STAY pregnant.
Once ovulation happens, corpus luteum produces progesterone which is then responsible for:
🔆 maintaining a healthy and receptive uterine lining to welcome the embryo to implant
🔆 to sustain a healthy pregnancy
🔆 to support your sleep, reduce PMS and avoid mood swings
So yes, we want to make plenty (even when not ttc). I share lots of tips on supporting progesterone here and this is one of the focus areas in my work with clients, too.
2️⃣ You are fertile for about 7 days a cycle. That’s it. And more women than you would think miss their fertile window.
❗️Not every woman ovulates on day 14 of her cycle.
❗️If you have intercouse once your ovulation test turns positive, you already missed a few chances.
❗️Do you rely on ovulation pain to inducate ovulation? You might feel ovulation pains days before ovulation happens because of the growing follicles, on the day of ovulation but even after ovulation as the liquid of the burst follicle can be irritating. So not a good indication.
What to do? With my clients we use the Fertility Awareness Method. I teach them how to track their cervical mucus and temperature correctly. After 2-3 cycles we can already see some hormonal imbalances and when the fertile window opens and closes.
3️⃣ I’ve been on this journey, too. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and advised IVF. I now have two beautiful children, conceived naturally. So I get what an emotional toll it has on you. That’s why a part of my work is emotional support, meditation and fertility yoga to support you on your journey.
