Retrograde since late last year, Jupiter stations direct this week, where it will begin moving forward again in the sign of Cancer.

When Does Jupiter Go Direct?

Jupiter stations direct on March 11, 2026. It has been in its seemingly backward spin since November 11, 2025.

What Does Jupiter Retrograde Mean?

Known as the great beneficent of the cosmos in traditional astrology, Jupiter is associated with themes of growth, expansion, abundance, even luck. It is said to inspire opportunity, hope, and fortune. As with everything in astrology, Jupiter holds a vast range of potentials, expressions, challenges, and gifts.

When a planet moves into its retrograde rhythm, we feel this shift mirrored within ourselves and our experience of life. We become more introspective, reflective, and curious about who we are and what exists within us. The aspects of ourselves that are associated with what the planet represents are subject to increased scrutiny and, as a result, enhanced understanding.

The retrograde stage of a planet’s journey is a time of nurturance. It is an inward grounding that allows for outward movement. It is reconnection with the self in a way that attunes ourselves to our everyday existence when the planet finally moves forward again, as Jupiter does this week.

During Jupiter retrograde, we were supported in no longer looking around us for meaning and truth. Instead, we were able to quiet the noise so that we could hear our own meaning and truth. Instead of allowing external events and voices to shape our relationship with hope, we learned to turn inward for guidance.

The questions we asked ourselves related to our perceptions. What beliefs—true or untrue—have shaped our relationship with our potential? Do we feel safe with possibility? What does our mind say about it? How does our body respond to it? What experiences or ideas about hope have we pulled from the world around us and believed to be our own? What has always existed within us, beneath all of that for all of these years, and is ready to become known?

The questioning has been largely shaped and guided by the sign of the zodiac that held Jupiter in retrograde. The sign’s perception intertwined with the themes and the intentions of the retrograde such that Jupiter retrograde in Cancer was guided by emotion and our innate need for connection, safety, and belonging.

What Jupiter Retrograde in Cancer Taught You

There is something profoundly medicinal about Jupiter retrograde immersed in the emotional tides of Cancer. The planet‘s themes of expansion, hope, and meaning move through the body and are directed even more emphatically inward.

These themes infiltrate our memories and unconscious patterns formed long ago. The patterns that had us closing ourselves, hiding our wants, dismissing our emotional truths, and disconnecting from our sensitivity hold less authority over us now. This is due to our awareness of their presence, our questioning, and our willingness to feel, hold, and understand them.

The emotional material that we inherited at an age where survival and learning required openness without filters can easily be misunderstood as our own truth. After Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, its grip softens. Underneath that, our own truth becomes more available.

As Jupiter completes its retrograde of inner exploration and emotional insight, all that we have gleaned becomes more readily available to our consciousness. It also becomes more readily integrated into our existence when we move forward with awareness and intention. The planet’s orientation toward opportunity, possibility, and faith in goodness through the lens of Cancer comes as a result of the felt sense of safety, connection, and anchoring in the body that has been taking place.

As we begin moving ahead with Jupiter, our relationship with certain emotions evolves. Unconscious patterns that once held us tight begin to loosen. Our bodies begin to open to the idea of good things happening to us. The self that knows how to nurture its fears changes its fear about belonging in the world to an assuredness of belonging within oneself.

Nothing about Jupiter’s almost-year-long transit through Cancer has been loud, obvious, or flashy. It has been soft. Slow. Felt. Not always aable to be identified from the outside or translated into words. The planet’s chapter in Cancer will come to end when it shifts into Leo on June 30, 2026. Between now and then, let yourself unravel a little as your body and mind acclimate to an experience of unconditional safety, hope, belonging, and meaning.
