Yoga for OCD! As someone who has had OCD for many years, I understand how challenging it can be. The combination of yoga, meditation, and therapy has really helped me on my own healing journey and has helped me significantly improve my mental health. I’ve created this 30 minute yoga practice for OCD and anxiety to help you to connect with your body and quiet your mind. This yoga class is designed for all level yoga practitioners. This practice is not about making these postures perfect, it’s about keeping your mind connected to your body and keeping your focus in the present moment. In this yoga flow, we’ll strengthen and stretch our muscles and there will also be savasana at the end. For anyone who thinks that they can’t meditate with obsessive-compulsive disorder or intrusive thoughts, please give this savasana a try. I used to think that as well but you CAN meditate with OCD and it can actually really help you. It’s helped me so much. I hope you find this practice helpful along your own healing journey. Namaste.

OCD gave me a horrifically dangerous and severe exercise and stretching/contortions addiction for 2 years of my childhood. stretching until I passed out for 17 hours a day WAS MY OCD COMPULSIONS. I was so lost by the time I got admitted they had to tie me down to the hospital bed, force feed me antipsychotics and boost calorie plus drinks because of how dangerously underweight I was. 67 pounds at 14. Cried every night because of how painful it was. This video is so triggering to watch I hate it. Nobody understands. Everybody’s else’s “ocd” is cured by this but mine ruined my love for gymnastic dance and running. I’m so triggered and traumatized
Great lesson!!!
You always hear that exercise is so good for mental health. And that studies even show that it can be as good as an antidepressant. I know when I go trail riding on my bike, I feel awesome during. So I recently I started a 5-6am HIIT class. Ive only done 5 classes in 2 weeks. My best friend warned me that her doctors told her HIIT can increase cortisol and adrenaline and make anxiety worst. Im not sure if that is what happened but my anxiety, panic and OCD did get worst a few days ago. What is your opinion on this? And what other exercises are good for keeping a strong toned body as we age but wouldnt worsen OCD. Thanks.
