This is a joke, right? Our instructor here is under the misapprehension that people with scoliosis are far more limber than we are… or I am, anyway. Went through the first two postures and couldn't turn to the right for a half hour. I was in MORE pain than I had been.
Oh and by the way, NOT EVERYONE DOES YOGA. Throwing around the silly names of the poses – downward dog, child's pose, sexually aroused aardvark – is useless, I have no idea what you're talking about. Namaste on THIS for a while…. I'm going to see if any REAL physical therapists have scoliosis and chronic pain videos.

Dear Adriene, how can one adjust your programme to the specific curvature. I for one have a thoracic right curve. What should I emphasize and deemphasise ?

I haven't been able to lift my arms above my shoulders for years. Haven't been able to lower my head very far, turn a certain way, back pain constantly with my scoliosis.
I've done this video every morning for two weeks, maybe a bit longer, and I have mobility I haven't had since I was in my early 20s. Pain isn't as bad, and I sit up straighter already.

Is this only for the right, what if the bone is bent on the right?
This routine caused me so much pain and discomfort. I have curvatures and bulged herniated discs that cause me tons of pain but for some reason yoga has always made things worse. Really dont understand what i am doing wrong i get so frustrated I cant find a way to move without pain i end up giving up after so long.
Why I find the posture to be difficult… Maybe I am too stiff 😢
I have severe scoliosis and cannot do any back fusion exercises. Why are you showing so many fack fusion movements and twisting the spine? I was hoping for exercises that did not include any of that, or it would send me to ER. Disappointing.

Hi i have some questions. I have seen multiple medical professionals talk about how poses like the cobra pose/ twisting poses etc are harmful for people with scoliosis and im wondering if this practice could actually be dangerous for me. I have a c curve that is not super visible.
I really love Adriene's videos and her yoga routines. She got me into yoga so im wondering if this is a problem, maybe we could alternate the poses w some other ones?
Adriene, this is really a cry for help (anyone else who can, pls help me out)
I am extremely sad today because i started regular workouts and yoga everyday and i was loving it for the first time in my life. Until i started looking for ways to make it more scoliosis-friendly. Thay process eliminated a lot of my favourite poses e.g cobra pose, triangle pose etc bcs apparently they can make scoliosis worse.
Can u create videos that include only scoliosis friendly yoga poses (even if it doesn't fix scoliosis, my main aim is that the poses shouldnt be the ones that worsen it)
Its just so frustrating and sad to sjt through each video and figure out if a particular movement is going to hurt my body or not. I dont wanna give up. Please help me out i'm begging.
