Even a (very) short yoga for posture practice can help reset your tight, desk-bound muscles. So if you’ve had a long day of meetings or just some prolonged work sitting at your computer or desk, this is going to be a needed break for your neck, your shoulders, your wrists, your hips, your low back, and your hamstrings.
3-Minute Standing Yoga for Posture
Although you don’t even need a yoga mat for this practice (!), a hand towel or yoga strap can help you further open your hunched, tense shoulders.
Mountain Pose
Come to stand in Mountain Pose with your hands together at heart center.
Upward Salute Variation

Interlace your fingers, press your palms forward, and then reach your arms overhead, palms facing upwawrd, in a variation of Upward Salute.
Press up through your hands to stretch your fingers and wrists.
Standing Side Bend

Take a deep breath in. With your exhalation, lean to your left in Standing Side Bend. Shift your hips slightly to your right, and take your gaze to your left pinky toe.
Stay here for 2 cycles of breath.

Come through center with your next inhalation. Exhale as you repeat on your other side.
With your next inhalation, come back through center, look up, and on your exhalation, release your hands at your sides.
Standing Forward Bend Variation

Interlace your fingers behind your lower back. Keep a slight bend in your elbows and squeeze your arms toward one another. Feel free to use your towel or strap here.
Inhale as you lift your chest high, exhale as you fold forward into a variation of Standing Forward Bend. Bend your knees for comfort and let your hands float toward the sky.
Stay here for 4 cycles of breath, pedaling your feet or taking any intuitive movement you may need.
Halfway Lift

Exhale to release your hands to your shins. Inhale as you lift with a flat back in Halfway Lift.
Standing Forward Bend

Exhale, fold forward, releasing your neck.
Revolved Standing Forward Bend

Place your right fingertips on the floor beneath your head and about 6 inches ahead of your feet. Inhale as you reach your opposite hand toward the sky, opening into a twist in Revolved Standing Forward Bend. Let your right knee bend as you straighten your left leg.
Stay here for 3 full breaths before exhaling back through center and switching sides.
Bring both hands down, hands to your shins in Halfway Lift. Lengthen your spine and inhale here.
Mountain Pose

Press to stand, reach your arms up to the sky. Exhale, hands to heart center.
